Step 1: Caramelize the Onions
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add the sliced onions and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Beef Patties
While the onions are cooking, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a mixing bowl. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about the size of the bread slices but slightly thinner.

Step 3: Cook the Patties
