Stuffed Basbousa (Semolina Cake)

WAY TO COOK :

Mix all the ingredients for the basbousa batter.

Prepare the cream filling by cooking the semolina, cornstarch, sugar, and milk until thick, then add the cream and orange blossom water.

Grease a baking tray with ghee or butter.

Spread half of the basbousa batter evenly in the tray.

Spread the cream filling over the batter.

Carefully spread the remaining basbousa batter on top.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake for about 30 minutes.

Brown the top slightly.

Pour warm syrup over the baked basbousa.

Garnish with coconut flakes or nuts.
