Simple Potato Gratin (Gratin Dauphinois)

Steps:

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Grease a baking dish with butter.

In a saucepan, heat cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper until warm.

Arrange a layer of potatoes in the dish. Pour some of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle cheese.

Repeat layers until all potatoes and cream are used, finishing with cheese on top.

Bake for 45–50 minutes until the top is golden and potatoes are tender.

Let it cool a few minutes before serving.
