Creamy Two-Layer Chocolate Custard Dessert Recipe (Easy Homemade Pudding)

Ingredients

Vanilla Cream Layer

500 ml milk
1 can (395 g) sweetened condensed milk
200 ml heavy cream
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Topping

500 ml milk
4 tbsp cocoa powder
4 tbsp sugar
1 packet (12 g) unflavored gelatin
5 tbsp cold water
Instructions

1. Make the Vanilla Cream

In a saucepan, whisk together milk, condensed milk, cream, cornstarch, and vanilla.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and smooth.
Pour into a glass serving dish and let cool slightly.
2. Make the Chocolate Layer

Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes.
In a saucepan, combine milk, cocoa powder, and sugar.
Heat until hot but not boiling.
Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until dissolved.
Let cool for about 10 minutes.
3. Assemble

Carefully pour the chocolate mixture over the vanilla cream layer.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until fully set.
Serving

Cut into squares and serve chilled. The result is a creamy vanilla base topped with a smooth chocolate jelly layer, just like in the picture. 🍫🍮
